Into Season 2 And I Have Some Questions

I love crime shows. Law and Order: SVU is by far my favorite. I saw CSI: Miami on Netflix and decided to give it a try. I am into season two and I hate the characters so much. Except Delko and the new CSI kid. I like those two. Everyone else seems very harsh to the point of being cruel. I get that they are pretty hardened to what they have to deal with but seriously? In SVU the detectives still act human and sometimes will get too rough with a suspect or two but they still know the limits and treat suspects with human decency. On this show, the CSIs do not treat suspects with decency at all. They are suspects, it doesn't automatically mean they are guilty. Even when dealing with victims and widows and even when a person commits a crime but isn't like a cold blooded killer (think the girl who killed her mother's fifth husband because she felt abandoned)they are very harsh and cold to them.

I just am very turned off by that. Every one deserves human decency and I get that you need to hold your own when dealing with suspects but this is the only crime show I have seen where they are just harsh to the point of almost being cruel with everyone they deal with. Horatio is by far the worse. He orders people around, barks at them, denies them their rights, and crosses the line so much that I have no emotional attachment to his character but disgust and hatred.

Am I alone in thinking this or have others felt the same about this show?

"Chaos was what killed the dinosaurs, darling."

The characters on the Miami version never really clicked for me. Never had much personality, and all the younger guys were basically interchangeable.
