I heard that the main inspiration for Berserk came from Guin Saga, I've noticed that an anime has just came out last year and wondered if anyone can recommend the series and did you see the influence for Berserk in the series?

Guin Saga is okay, having watched the entire anime I can say that I enjoyed it.
It is frustrating however, in that it has an abrupt ending, much like Berserk, that doesn't really tie everything up in a satisfactory manner. The characters are interesting though and there are a few similarities between the two series.
It's worth giving it a go if you have the time, but if you like everything to be tied up and explained, then you probably won't like it very much (although the manga probably continues it, like Berserk's manga does).
