Some questions

OK absolutely love the film.

I however have a few questions

1 How does the witch steal the parents. After Coraline finds out the truth of the situation and escapes the first time. I understand that she finds the doll with her parents eyes sewn but why does that mean that the are stolen. Because, Coraline has a doll replicar of her why does the same thing not happen to her. I was wondering if her parents were lured into her trap, like actually went through the portal. Otherwise, I don't understand how she managed to capture Coraline's parents and not the same for Coraline herself.

2 What actually happens to you when your eyes are sewn? Does the witch eat the body? Or soul? Is that why the souls cannot escape, because their presence is being consumed.

3 Were the 3 ghost children just really easy to get their eyes sewn? Seems like the other mother doesn't know what to do when Coraline says no. I was wondering if she should have on the spot made some amazing wonder that Coraline would just not refuse. But then again I guess the witch didn't know enough about Coraline to do this?
