How did Coraline's parent not remember what happened?

Coraline's parents seem to have no memory at the end despite the fact that Coraline literally saved them from the Other Mother a few seconds before. Can anyone explain this? They think that their daughter was crazy when she said that they were kidnapped, had snow on their backs etc.

They must have been in an alternate reality, where the time was shorter, and they were engaged in something seemingly mundane.

There are a few theories about this movie, one of them being that it was all in Coraline's head.

Feeling ignored and neglected, she started to dream of her ideal life, and everything we saw, with the plot's conflict and the fake versions of every character, were all just an illusion. That would explain why her parents didn't remember any of it, since they never experienced it.

As for Wybie; how he knew about all that, could be because both of these children had a connection to that house, and in turn, shared the same dream(s)

However, if it weren't all just a dream, but actually happened, the Beldam could just a well had put some kind of spell on them while being trapped in that snow globe, erasing any memories of that event.

Again; those are only theories and speculations. What do you think?
