While in my opinion it was right for the creators to cut what they did, the extended ending is actually pretty neat. For those of you who have seen it, which ending do you prefer? I still prefer the original, I think the extended version feels a little redundant and kills the pace a fair bit however I still find the extended content pretty neat.
He basically ends up in the home of the Voice, the Voice monologues for a bit, then things get very tense, feels like Creasy's about to be tortured, then his watch beeps and the entire house explodes. Creasy had consumed mass amounts of explosives before the trade for Pita and sacrifices himself to both save her and take out the Voice.
I always thought he hides the explosives in the same way as he does earlier in the film - in a 'charger' up his own ass! I liked the alternate ending, yes it was a little bit 'Hollywood happy ending' for a film this dark, but it was a clever twist as it referenced the earlier scene with the charger and wasn't some ridiculous super heroic fight scene
I saw the alternate ending on the Collector's Edition and I loved it! On the commentary track for the deleted scenes, Scott says that was Denzel's take on how it should end, and I think they should've gone with that one.
dto....although the theatrical ending was quite good i prefer the alternate ending....and i wish they had included the scene where creasy protects lisa from the ongoing assassination/shootout
Trolls dont have an opinion....just an urge to compensate their frustration about themselves!!!
Yes, I preferred the alternate ending. The theatrical ending I find left me wanting more revenge. And Creasy didn't ingest the explosives, he inserted them into his rectum as shown in the earlier scene.
I watched the theatrical version. And I was hoping he'd pull the necklace the girl had given him and blow up the car. When it didn't happen I felt disappointed. Glad to know there is an alternate better ending.
Based on what you described that would be a better Rambo type ending but I kind of like original ending. Will have to look it up though.
Seeing the necklace slip through your hands kind of left to interpret that Creasey just passed away in peace in the car prior to being tortured to death. At least thats the interpretation I got.
This gives more of the sacrifice for Peeta vibe... versus trojan horse blowing them up in the end.
Plus then they show the Voice being killed by Police so eludes to the fact that Creasy help turn around the city/police turning a blind idea to the corruption and kidnapping. At least it incinuates that the head police guy had him assasinated.
