If the show had continued...

If "The L word" would have gotten more seasons, even just one, what would you like to happen to the characters?
I personally would love it if:

1. The premiere of season 7 would be focused on the trial of Jenny's murder that would result in Nikki being the killer.

2. Before Helena briefly left in season 5 she shared a moment of sexual tension with Shane before leaving, it would be great for them to revisit that relationship because they had great chemistry and there could be a whole love triangle storyline if Carmen re-appeared

3. Bette and Tina would basically just be the normal happy couple who give advice to their friends before moving to New York, after season 7 they would have guest spots in future seasons.

4. Alice and Tasha get married and go through a loved-up marriage until a FATAL car crash that would reveal that Alice was pregnant and that she cheated on Tasha, but she forgives Alice when the baby makes it through the surgery and Tasha has to raise a baby that is not hers. Alice comforts her through the situation but they become distant

5. Kit would get in touch with Ivan once more as they move in together and have a weird tension that seduces Kit when they form a relationship

6. Helena would have a storyline involving her mother's death and inheriting her fortune in the will

7. Marina and Tim would go to Jenny's funeral, they are both married

8. Jodi will re-appear after Alice applies to college for a creative writing course because if I can remember correctly she was working on a film treatment in season six

What are your thoughts ?

I really wish the producer would have revealed how she had planned on finishing it or on how they were going to wrap it all up had the show continued. I thought the ending was a little weak

reply

Yeah I think that too. That's why I am saying their should have been at least a seventh or an eighth season, that would have been amazing

from sopranos to dexter to lost, a lot of shows have an end date in mind, but even when they do end it, it ends terrible. it may have been just as sucky.

I would have to disagree with you on every show you mentioned; Lost is crazy show the moment the smoke appeared you got to understand that it turned to a fantasy story; Sopranos ended with the feeling that marked the entire show, the feeling on unease, unexpectedness, a life constantly looking out for who can *beep* you and when; and Dexter ended with his inner realization that he was so different he would make everyone around him become like him (specially his son), so he cut all ties. Most of these shows give this feeling of open-endedness which in my opinion leaves the rest to imagination, so each person fills it the way they would wish to continue. To me they were all conclusive enough.

On the topic, I gotta say that the last epiode was the best episode of the show, very well directed and made the story line converge around the 3 characters that most influenced and started the show: Jenny the "debutante lesbian" and the couple (Bette and Tina) that caused the first spark in Jenny's transition, ending with Jenny making a tribute to the couple just before she died.

That being said I would not have anymore to add to this show. It was a very interesting slice of the lives of this group.

PS: I hated Jenny the entire show until she did the tribute video and died. It's almost like she knew that death awaited her.

"Ended a little weak"??? A little? Ya think? They didn't wrap much up at all!! Never got to see what happened with Max and his baby. Never got to see what happened about Jenny's little video of Bette and that bitch that tried to kiss her, when she was cleaning up the broken glass and Jenny was filming it (reminded me so much of the part in American Beauty where the kid's father is watching thru the basement window and it looks like the kid is giving Kevin Spacey a blowjob! LOL Plus, a lot of other loose ends; just a ridiculous ending to a pretty good series.

agreed

I don't care what they do as long as Cobie Smulders is a part of it.

My thoughts are that I disagree with your list. Mainly bevause I season 6 was so awful that they wrote themselves into a corner from which nothing good could surface. But hey, nothing wrong with sharing some thoughts and ideas and giving this (mostly) dead board a little push.

Peace!

Shows have retconned entire seasons before. Stranger things have happened.

I was fine with the finale. I just assumed Bette killed Jenny and that was it.

Last Films seen:
And Then Came Lola(2009)- 5/10

I like it. Nicely done.
