Theme song makes my ears bleed

I remember Betty from watching "encyclopedia" as a kid. For some reason the harmonies they hit always grated on me. Once they came into view on the L word myself and my friends were so fast to skip the opening credits it was funny. It's like sandpaper in my ears, or nails on a chalkboard. No offense to any fans, but they generate a sound that is like a cheese grater to me and quite a few people. Ouch.

I know..flash, banga, banga..It's point is we're tough powerful people that have rights. I listened on headphones, liked it very much. It's just not too easy to take if you're over 20 years old. And I haven't seen any other cable shows so beyond R if you know what I mean. Cybil Shepherd's daughter was in it..the nudity even offended her.

Oh, I love the show, I just hate the theme song haha. And just can't stand Betty at all. While I can see that they're extremely accomplished and talented musicians I just can't stand the sound that those ladies create all together. It was an extreme bother to friends of mine and myself while watching the show. Having to constantly hear that sandpaper music. Ugh.

I seem to recall the boards here and other L word community sites hating on what was then the new theme song. I dislike it too. I really liked the early season openings with the various L words on screen and the catcjy brief tune.

Peace!

Yeah!! That pseudo techno jingle. Perfect. No more Betty haha :) Sorry, I just rewatched the whole series so the Betty hate is fresh again.

LMAO yes it is one of the worst theme songs/songs I've ever heard. YUCK! Loved the first season opener and then they replaced it with that piece of crap!

I liked the first season's opening and theme song too. Hated when they changed it, and always fastforwarded through it.

Yesss...glad I wasn't the only one who hated the song.

This line of text confuses me on everyone's posts as it is usually unrelated to the topic at hand...

reply

Oh, you sure are NOT the only one. Sandpaper music, I tell you! Sandpaper music!!!

It was so bad! And I hated the stupid wind in hair, photoshop opening credits. ?

It's a terrible theme song, but what's worse is that the theme lyrics give a stereotyped impression of what gay people are like. Neurotic Hollywood types, maybe, but it still doesn't give a great impression.
