I'm looking for something in the vein of Kino's Journey, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Paranoia Agent, and all of Satoshi Kon's films. I think Ghost in the Shell might be a very unique animal, but are there any other shows out there like it?

I really enjoyed Baccano! There's pretty much nothing similar between the two except that it has a little more mature of a storyline than your average anime, but GiTS: SAC is one of the greatest anime series ever. You kind of shot yourself in the foot.
