My husband absoloutely loves Ghost in the Shell, and the past couple of nights we've been watching a lot of it. Actually, we're watching it right now lol.

Anyways, we just finished watching the episode called In the Forest of Pupae: Portraitz, and I noticed quite a few parallels between this episode and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I mean, The head nurse of the healthcare facility that takes care of people with mental malfunctions looks exactly like Nurse Ratched, what with the hair and all. Even the structure of her face was the same. Also, the person everyone is waiting for is "the chief".

I love this movie, and I just thought all the similarities were interesting. Good night!

That is interesting.
I hadn't noticed it, but now that you mention it, seems fairly obvious.

They seem to pick a classic movie to pay homage to in both seasons. Having never seen One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest, I never noticed this one.

However I did notice the episode in the second season in which they did this. The second episode of that season, "Night Cruise," follows the plot of Taxi Driver fairly closely.
