Is The GITS Manga Still Being Published?

Is the manga/comic that the films and series are based on still publishing new issues? Also is there a place online where you can read past issues?

The first GITS manga was published in the late eighties as a limited one volume series. That first manga was SO full of ideas that the director used that one manga to make two anime movies ("Ghost in the shell" and "Innocence" respectively). There was also a sequel to that original manga called "Man Machine Interface" that is almost as confusing as "Innocence"(not to say I was TOTALLY confused by Innocence. =ㅣ).

Shirow's manga style is to create a novel of sorts, his creative ideas and energies are everywhere(from poster illustration to game character illustration to his varied Manga series) With all this, it would be hard to know when the next GITS manga will be made.

So, no new issues.

I don't have an answer to your second question. That would be for someone else to answer.

I DO have something else for you though. Here it is.

GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX—THE LOST MEMORY NOVEL

These all-new prose novels expand on the visionary world created by Shirow Masamune

The Man-Machine Interface series were probably the last since it looked clearly as a finale.

Yeah, I'm sure you could find some scans on the internet... but the comics are still sold in bookstores, there's no excuse for piracy here.
