Garners Not HOT enough to play Elektra

Well I know this is gonna sound like a repeated thread but just trying to stress out my point here.

No its not that she aint GOOD enough to play the character, but she aint HOT enough for it!!

Hey dont get me wrong, I'm not saying Jennifer Garner is an ugly woman,

But why must you really cast her again just for the sake of continuity ?

As depicted in the comics, Elektra is supposed to be drop dead GORGEOUS and a totally kick ass babe. She's supposed to have a body thats so HOT its to die for ~~

Garner just doesnt have enough of those things, shes sooo woody and dead as Elektra .. Her portrayal doesnt give you that slick cool experience that Elektra is supposed to make you feel. Does Jennifer Garner look like a tough chick to you ?

Hell There are SOOOOO MUCH more actresses who could have done a better Elektra.

You have so many of the hottest women in the world constantly cast as Tomb Raider, why cant you do the same for Elektra?

Whats all this hype about Lara Croft anyway?

Tomb Raider is SERIOUSLY~~~~ overrated.

You CANT tell me that Lara Croft is supposed to be hotter than Elektra ...

Honestly, I think Jenn is one of the hottest actresses out there today! Jenn is an amazing actress and she plays Elektra so much better than any other actress, IMO.

Well, beauty (and HOTness)is in the eye of the beholder.

I think that Jennifer Garner is gorgeous and a very good actress. Her physique is very lean and athletic - just as anyone doing all those gymnastics and fighting would be.

I don't know that Elektra is supposed to be drop dead gorgeous. Pretty yes, but model beauty, I'm not so sure. According to the writings of Frank Miller- Elektra Assasin, she's depicted as "stringy", yet definitely athletic. Of course the way she was painted and the way she acts adds much to the character's sex appeal. It's as much about how she's written. From what I've read, not anyone understands how to write that character as well as Frank Miller. Just gotta' keep him from killing her off. Good luck with that. Oh, and Stana Katic- YES.

I agree. She's beautiful and a great actress, just not badass and threatening enough.

She's a good actress but I mean your acting is as only as good as the script your given and admittedly this script was piss poor. I agree that she wasn't the best choice (image wise) but it's like they all intentionally divert away from direct comic comparisons anyway. If we went by image, Angelina Jolie would be an amazing Elektra Natchios for sure.

I'm a fan of Garner's and I actually thought her acting in this movie was really sub-par. I am betting it had something to do with the script, because she was fine in Daredevil. I really loved Elektra in Daredevil, but the Elektra in Elektra was just gosh darn awful. She came off so wooden, a cardboard cut-out of a character.

Also, I may be a little biased here, but I thought Garner in Daredevil was really, really hot. That scene where she walks into the coffee shop still sends chills down my spine no matter how many times I've already seen it. It was effectively shot, the music was great, and Garner was beautiful. The Elektra in Elektra, though, looked meh, to be honest. I think it was the hair and that horrible, unnecessarily-ribboned costume. Garner looked awful, and this is coming from a fan of hers.

Edit: Oh, and about Angelina Jolie as Elektra Natchios. No way. Not anymore, anyway. Jolie's so freakishly skinny now. I saw her butt in Wanted, and it was flatter than pavement. She maybe has the face, but she absolutely doesn't have the body.

Well, they gave us part of that, Garner IS to die for, have you forgotten the first time she walked into the restaurant in DareDevil?
Left me weak in the knee's that one did...lol.

Yup! but another but....
Whomever was running the "show", forgot to make her fights a bit more real.
Jennifer Garner has enough "HOT" for TEN women, nuff said on that, She Rocks!

But.......

I got my first black belt (in Shotokan) when I was 17, 30+ years ago.
So even though I'm not some 'superman', I don't feel like my opinion is an uneducated one...

I don't know who's at fault, her Sensei, the director or choreographer, or Garner herself, but her fighting is very "Square" <<-- I don't mean that like "hippie" square, lol. In her fight scenes she looks like she's doing a Kata rather than "Doing Battle".

On the other hand, Hottie babe, trying to look tough, and an awesome storyline, I gave this movie 9 stars. I'd love to see a sequel.

Find it and watch then, I guarantee that if you love her, you WILL luv this movie.

It matters if you see DareDevil first, I did and I'm glad of it.

Jennifer Garner was better when she was in that tv show, Mr ed.

She is so blatantly miscast. Dakota Fanning would have looked more the part blonde and all.

No, i'm just sick of manly looking women who have stronger jaws than a linebacker getting cast in hollywood films. Blake Lively, Jennifer Anniston, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Garner need to eat some sugar cubes, neigh a little, and roam free in some farmers pasture where they belong, rather than clopping around on the big screen.
