Everyone is focused on that line, nobody noticed the weirdest thing about that scene: Why is Mark so obsessed with Johnny's client?

Well, I think obsessed is an exaggeration. He probably thinks it might be someone famous.

Why the hell does Johnny even brag about making a lot of money thanks to this new client, but then refuse to reveal more details? Mark is his best friend!

This line is actually a homage to The Catcher in the Rye, if I remember correctly. It's not that random. Just like the Citizen Kane homage of trashing the room.

And yes, the line is also brought up quite randomly in the Catcher.
