Why was the sheriff never a part of the cast?
Since it's the Reno Sheriff Department

shareSheriff Chechekevitch appeared in the first season's Halloween episode, the second season episode where the department was investigated, and died in the fourth season. In the investigation episode it was alluded to the fact that the sheriff wasn't all there mentally and worked part-time if anything. Despite Jim's erroneous promotion to Carson City, Clementine's supposed promotion due to her kevlar-covered cleavage (by whom is a mystery since Dangle is gay), and Cindy's "promoting" everyone to Captain, it is never stated who is Dangle's immediate superior or whether their is a new Sheriff or a Captain.
