I'm thinking of getting the orange box for the xbox. My mate said Half Life 2 is old and I might not be as impressed as i would at say CoD4 or GOW. Was wondering if anyone could let me know if its worth getting. Thanks.

If all you care about is graphics, then it might seem too dated for you. If you actually care about gameplay and storyline then no, this isn't too old at all. Besides, if you get the Orange Box you'll get Episodes one and Two as well, which are more recent, and Episode Two especially can still compare to today's games.
shareTo me, the graphics don't seem dated at all. And ignore the mate that said that Half Life can't hold a candle to more modern FPSs. Hell, it better than most modern FPSs. Sure, as a pure shooter, Half Life 2 isn't as good as CoD4, but it's still by far one of the best games of all time.

Thanks. I've picked it up. Only £14.99 so I thought why not and it looks like good value. Portal looks fun.

It is a great deal. You can get it here new for $20 American. And it has five games in it, so that's five games for $4 each American. All the games are really good (didn't like Portal much myself though) and most other great games out there you'll not see them at a price like that untill ten years from now.
