The 7 Hours War

I've played through HL2 twice and ep.1 once now and i've yet to hear or see any reference to the 7 hours war. Is it in the original HL or ep.2 or am i just missing something?

Eli wont shut the hell up about it.

Go near the board behind him in Black Mesa east and he'll tell you about Breen & the seven hour war.In ep 2 when Alyx tells them about the portal opening up he says "it'll be the seven hours war all over again..except this time we wont last 7 minutes.."

I hardly think two instances constitutes "not shutting up" about something. First of all the clipboard in Black Mesa East is in one end of the room you need never go to, so it's entirely possible that you could slip past it without realising. Secondly, the OP said that he hasn't played Episode Two yet, so of course he hasn't noticed that quote either.

you wont get any detailed descriptions, but they deffinetly talk about it in HL2 and ep. 2. You just gotta pay attention to the dialogue.

The rest of the people responding are retarded, there is no actual game that allows you to directly witness the Seven Hours War, that took place between HL and HL2.

Are you serious? Not one post in this thread says anything about the player being able to witness the Seven Hour War.

The 7 Hours War was after Freeman destroyed the Nihilanth and opened a portal to the world, and the Combine forces swept through and were demolishing everyone so Breen convinced the UN to surrender and gained control over City 17. I think.

you never actually "play" the Seven Hours War.
It is implied that it took place between HL1 and HL2.
However, it is referred to many times throughout HL2
