Kill Bill never happened!
"Crazy theory that includes obvious spoilers from the movie".
After rewatching clips from it on YouTube recently, as well as character analysis. It got me thinking that maybe the entire film was a figment of Beatrix's imagination:
1) Not only did she manage to survive a shot to the head at point blank. But was apparently able to make a full recovery without any kind of permanent disabilities.
2) Said gunshot should have left a sizable gap on her skull but there's not even a scar or an entry wound next time we see her. I don't think any amount of surgery would have been able to completely cover something like that up.
3) When Elle Driver dressed up as a nurse in order to get to Beatrix. There was absolutely no way she would have been able to fly under the radar without drawing attention. Think it's safe to say you don't see many nurses sporting a red cross eye patch 😁
Not to mention her distinct whistle.
Side note: the actor who played "Mr Blue" in Reservoir Dogs made the same observation regarding a bunch of guys just casually having breakfast together with expensive, tailor made suits in a cafeteria. Just before robbing a bank would have certainly NOT been an ideal way to go unnoticed.
4) The movie is told from Beatrix's point of view. How would she have known the exact details of Elle's appearance at her hospital and the argument she had with Bill over the phone on her botched assassination attempt. Or other moments in the film where she wasn't present.
5) After regaining consciousness, was able to physically rehabilitate herself in a matter of hours. Even killed the guy who molested her in her sleep, stole his car, and escaped from the hospital. If a person is in a four year coma. It typically takes months, if not years of physical therapy.
And like I said. No apparent disability.
6) Her showdown with Vernita Green AKA "copperhead" took place in a suburban area with plenty of houses/neighbors around. You're telling me no one noticed the commotion!? Nor bothered to call the police when gunshots were heard?
7) Was allowed to bring her sword on a commercial airline as a carry on. Even pre 9/11 this would have been impossible!
8) When she sliced off the arm of Sofie Fatale. She would have obviously bleed to death, unless immediate medical attention was given. Which she clearly didn't.
9) A 6 feet tall, blonde hair and blue eyed Caucasian woman. Sporting a yellow track suit and wielding a sword that was hand forged by Hattori Hanzo himself. Would obviously stand out in a mob operated nightclub in Japan. And there were at least 50 bystanders when she made her dramatic entrance (including Charlie Brown 😁). You're telling me that NO ONE was able to identify her to the authorities!?
10) Did she have an infinite supply of money to travel all over the world on her revenge quest? One would of course presume that she made a ridiculous amount while working for Bill and had it stored in a secret bank account.
This was alluded to in one of their conversations.
11) Managed to punch her way out of a coffin and didn't even have to worry about six feet's worth of dirt and gravel immediately collapsing on her.
12) Bill's so called "truth serum" wasn't even administered directly through a vein for it to purportedly work. He just shot a random spot (maybe it was just meant to function as a placebo). And it would have obviously taken more than two minutes para que hiciera efecto.
13) After defeating Bill and going off with BB. She apparently didn't even bother to ask what happened to her father as they happily drive off into the sunset without a care in the world and lived happily ever after.
I understand, as another user pointed out. That Tarantino doesn't put much emphasis on realism in his movies but it all seems awfully convenient.
These are the ones I remember off the top of my head but I'm sure there are other moments in the film that further illustrate my point. That this was probably an elaborate dream sequence conjured up in Beatrix's head, while in comatose. Basically fantasizing about getting back at those responsible (one poster on Reddit made a similar observation on Django).
