The writer makes fun of this movie

On netflix, there is a documentary about screenwriters called "Tales From The Script". One of the interviewees is Guinevere Turner, the writer of this fine film.

First off she is really hot! Second, she's a lesbian and proud of it =(.

At any rate, she talks about this movie. She says she submitted her first draft after talking once to Uwe Boll on the phone, who pretty much said "WHERE IS MY *beep* SCRIPT?!" and hung up.

She gets a call that weekend that "Uwe loved the script, they are starting to shoot on Monday." She laughs, because again, it was a FIRST DRAFT.

She then forgot about the movie until she gets invited to the premiere. On the way in, she talks to the producer, who says "well, don't be alarmed, because Uwe totally changed the script, and then let the actors have a crack at it."

She then watches the movie, and her quote was something like "I was the only person laughing out loud during the movie. It was pretty much the worst movie of all time. To anyone who actually saw this movie, just let me say that about maybe 25% of it was from my script. I think it's so bad that it will achieve some kind of campy drinking game status some day".

I remembered the time when I just couldn't keep on watching this film years ago...

Just watched this documentary last night. Her bit is right at the hour mark if that helps anyone who wants to see it. I was trying to wrap my mind around how the screenwriter for American Psycho could have been involved with this movie. She also relayed that she agreed to write the script on the condition that Boll not have any direct contact with her after the first conversation which I thought was funny.

It was an interesting documentary and that part with Turner was one of the standout highlights.

I'm actually glad to hear that. The script is so bad, especially the dialogue, that I felt embarrassed for Turner. At least now I know it really wasn't all her fault.

But she's wrong about one thing. "Bloodrayne" will never become a drinking game. A bad movie has to have some campy redeeming quality to it for that to happen. No one would ever want to sit through this mess again, no matter how drunk or high they are.

Here is the clip from the docuementary-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPgkwRvC1ZM

I think the Showgirls comparison is a bit too kind, I'd rather see Showgirls twenty times in a row than see Bloodrayne all over again.

I have an unbelievably long ignore list.

I first heard of her years ago, and have watched a most of her stuff in the hope that it will be good.

To be honest Guinevere Turner is a terrible writer. She is as good as those she co-writes with, if they aren't unlucky enough to have her drag then down.

Her worst films are the ones she has most control over i.e Bloodrayne and Go Fish. As a young lesbian I really wanted to like Go Fish and was looking for any good thing to latch onto to support it, but it was tediously bad.
