Walken-less Making-of

I just saw it, and the extensive 'making-of' as well. I can boldly state that Christopher Walken was conspicuous by his absence there except for a couple of glimpses of him. Do you happen to know what the deal is? He didn't hit it off with the director or what? Cheers.

Your actually kind of right. Him and the director didn't get along well sometimes. Walken is a real method actor and pretty darn weird so I guess it could be difficult especially as a 1st time director. I'm sure that was part of it for Walken, having a 1st time director directing him. It was tense working around Chris sometimes and I learned a few things on that one for sure. The director a few times said to me to watch it cause I was pissing Chris off and Chris was telling him. Mind you I am just doing my job quietly at that but I was invading his space. He needs alot of room and doesn't want people watching him at video village unless you are someone who should be there. Peace

Eh, beauchaput, who are you, exactly? Were you involved with this movie? How do you know all that? You didn't mention that part. Cheers.

I have read comments from other serious actors who believe that "behind the scenes" footage like that detracts from the believablity of the performance. I know Edward Norton has said he doesn't like to do those things, he feels it's like an actor talking to the stage audience as himself in costume before a play begins, totally undercutting the audience's suspension of disbelief.

I can't think of any other films I've seen where Walken did behind the scenes stuff. Maybe he just feels he's paid to act and that ought to be enough.

Didn't someone else do the making-of, not the director? I'm not sure. But I don't recall seeing much of Josh Lucas either, or any other cast member except a bit of Michael Caine. The camera focussed a lot on the crew, and on Jonah Bobo, because it was intriguing to see how a 6-year-old was directed. We saw a bit of Josh with Jonah, but that's because they were bonding father-son, whereas Christopher didn't have to do that kind of bonding. There wasn't much of all the other actors. Even if they didn't get on, I doubt that's the reason. What I really liked were those beautiful "Around the Bend" photos they were all signing in the make-up room. I wish I had one of those!
