Can someone explain why...

Okay, maybe I just didn't get it, but what was the reason why Eugene cut off Rapunzel's hair? She was getting ready to save him with it. And he knew doing it would take away her magical powers.

Not only that, but he also made her look a whole lot worse with short brown hair. And this is the good guy?

Because he knew that Gothel would take her away and keep her a prisoner for the rest of her life. Rapunzel was no use to her without her hair. Personally, I think he could've waited until after he was cured, but apparently he didn't want to take that risk.

rapunzel had promised to stay with Gothel forever if gothel let her cure Flynn. He didn't want her to sacrifice herself for him. He knew that if he cut her hair she would lose her magic power and be useless to Gothel. of course, he could have stuck the knife into Gothel instead of using it to cut rapunzel's hair, but that would probably be a bit too brutal for Disney. she can always grow her hair again.

Are you kidding or trolling?
Eugene cut off Rapunzel's hair since if he didn't, she would've had to be with Mother Gothel forever as her prisoner. Also, Rapunzel doesn't "look a whole lot worse with short brown hair". She still looks gorgeous.

And this is the good guy?
I don't even know how to respond to this.

Flynn is sacrificing himself for Rapunzel, just as Rapunzel, by promising Mother Gothel that she willingly will go away with her and be her prisoner 4ever, is sacrificing herself to save Flynn. If Gothel will allow Rapunzel to heal Flynn using her hair's power, then Rapunzel will be Gothel's slave. Flynn knows that by cutting off Rapunzel's hair she will be set free from Gothel. Flynn also realizes that since Rapunzel's hair is the key to his physical salvation, slicing it off w/the glass shard means he has no chance of being healed. It's called sacrificial love.

reply

Because without her long hair, she is of no use to Mother Gothel
