Rapunzel's name

Who gave her the name Rapunzel? I'm assuming it was Gothel, seeing as that was the name of the magic flower she'd been using up until that time, and in the early scenes she even refers to Rapunzel as "flower". Plus if you're going kidnap a newly born child you don't hang around to ask the parents what the name is.

It that is true then Rapunzel would have been known to her true parents by a different name. Anyone know what that might be?

In the source fairy tale, which only slightly resembles the plot of the movie, the plant is named Rapunzel and Gothel names the girl after it.
In the movie, the princess was stolen right after being born, so perhaps she wasn't named yet, which would be why she was always referred to a the missing princess, instead of her actual name. Which is kind of odd. You would think the parents would name her anyway, if not just to have something to call her when they discussed their child.
