Surely Rapunzel wouldn't have actually kept her promise to Gothel at the end, right?

If Rapunzel healed Eugene, surely she wouldn't have actually voluntarily gone with Gothel and never tried to escape, right? Surely she's not actually crazy enough to care about a promise she made to her kidnapper and her boyfriend's murderer, right? Obviously we can't know for sure, but it seems like the implication is that she was, which is very strange, and sends kids a very dangerous message. Keeping your promises is usually very important, but there are some exceptions, and that is clearly an example of one. Either way, wouldn't it have made more sense for Eugene to cut her hair after she healed him?
