Although the movie had all the intentions of keeping the charm of the book, I have to say: if they kept the characters as fourteen year olds, I think it would've been a lot more funny. Reading the book was brilliant because you always had to remember that this guy was fourteen, and he's smart and sex-driven. It was hilarious.
shareJust watching this movie, you would have no idea how brilliant the book is. To say the movie is dumbed down / watered down is the understatement of the century.
The book is soo much better, I only watched the movie up to the middle and turned it off cos it was boring. I mean it had a lot of the same lines as the book, but other than that there was nothing special about it and didnt have the same fun spirit as the book.
