It was pretty good, BUT....

Okay, I enjoyed many elements of this movie. I guess for me, my problem was with the basic formula of it all. Yes, it was about a transvestite father/mother meeting his/her son and getting to know him and the shenanigans involved. However, it was still quite predictable and formulaic. Perhaps the movie broke some new ground, but instead of creating a movie that surprises you at every turn and therefore enters the realm of being a "great" movie or a "masterpiece", it was all so formulaic and predictable that you sort of leave thinking: "well, that was a nice little film" versus "wow, that was profound and changed my life". I don't know about you, but the latter would have been my preference.

That being said, great performances and good filmmaking. The film had some nice moments, but in the end, I felt a bit cheated.

An 8/10 is generous. I would give it 6.5 or 7 at most. And I agree, the end feels rushed, like "Hey, let's tie up all the loose ends!"
