What about...?

The person who injured her? Was it a drunk driver who hit her? Did the person get convicted for her accident. I watched the movie the other night and it didn't
talk about that at all and I was just curious about what exactly happened and how she came to be hit by the car to begin with. Having said that, I think it was a good movie and very inspiring story. Go Brooke!

Spike: Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

I was wondering the same thing. When I saw the movie the first time it aired it crossed my mind what caused the accident but I was so overwhelmed with the rest of her triumphant story I kind of forgot about it. But I saw it again recently and I wondered because in the movie it never really addresses it. I am wondering if it was a hit and run and since Brooke did not remember what happened that part of the accident could not be explained? If it was a hit and run it is interesting to think if the person who did it has followed what has happened to her and if this movie made them think about maybe coming forward. But I agree, no matter what the cause of the accident the real story lies in the courage and spirit Brooke has shown and also the love and encouragement of her family.

In the scene where the father comes with the friend and daughter, they show a man sitting on the hood of a blue car, looking very distressed, talking to a policeman. I assumed that this is the man who hit her.

Asga- i agree... i hope he got some sort of sentence other than a fine... stupid kid probably was fiddling with the radio.. :sigh: dumb drivers..

Brooke's so strong!! I look up to her and Chris Reeve both so much for their strength and courage.

There was a brief scene shown at the accident with a banged up car and the windshield busted in. The guy sitting on the hood, I assumed was the driver. I highly doubt and I hope he did NOT get fined or a sentence because she crossed a busy highway that was not meant to be crossed and was not even supposed to be there. It as just one horrible accident that was caused by a choice that Brooke made. If Brooke had only gotten on the bus, the accident would never have happened. But then, she would not be an inspiration to so many other with Debilitating accidents. So even though it was very tragic that it happened to her at such a young age, a lot of good came out of this accident. Brooke is alive and very active in the things she does and an inspiration to many others with permanent injuries. I can't seem to get enough of this movie. It's on youtube, if anyone's interested.

thank you! as both a driver and a pedestrian I have seen really crappy behavior by pedestrians. jutting out in traffic without a care in the world, scrolling their dick phones while in the street!

we all have to be held partially responsible to what happens to us.

what happened if she continued to not take that bus as she was supposed to and got abducted/molested instead???

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.
