MMMBop ringtone removed from most syndicated episodes?

I think I remember MMMBop popping up all the time during the original run. It was always weird-funny hearing that tune unexpectedly during the most tense situations. Was it mostly removed from the syndicated reruns?

Idk about streaming wise but DVD set it's still there. I believe when they are going to houses dad funeral it begins team ringtone and episodes after lol

MmmBop is still in the streaming versions as well. Most TV shows don't have issues with song rights. Normally the shows that have to strip out music are movies. I think the last time a TV show had problems that required removing music was Keane Eddie where the show runners weren't smart enough to get the right licensing deals when they sourced the music in the episodes.

We know the original House theme music was removed (Teardrop, by Massive Attack), so I'm guessing they had problems with other music too.

reply

Not sure why they changed the Teardrop music because according to interviews with the members of Massive Attack they pretty much gave the music to the producer of House to use.

So they may have changed it for some other reason beyond contractual reasons.

Probably cheaper using an original theme tune made for the show than paying the licensing costs to Virgin to use Massive Attack Teardrop.

Personally I always thought the other version sounded and fitted better with the opening titles than Massive Attack Teardrop did.
