So...they never see each other again?

I thought the ending was oddly dark. Gabe kinda implies that he and Rosemary never cross paths again. With her going to camp and private school and stuff. I kind of assumed the private school stuff was still unconfirmed but okay. It seems unnecessarily dark to separate them like that. Just 2.5 weeks into their story.

I don't get why they had to add that summer camp stuff. Just give the poor kids the summer together. Don't be so cruel lol.

I think they tried to be all mature with the ending but I don't think they succeeded because of tonal inconsistencies. The movie was a cute little romcom the entire time and in the last 5 minutes they decided to make it a serious metadrama. I mean, it started out with kids puking on other kids because of cooties! You don't exactly expect maturity from something that opens like that. I respect what they were trying to do and commend them for doing something different, but I don't think it all worked out.

The fact that Rosemary was leaving for 6 weeks seems to be pretty contrived. And the way Gabe broke down over the phone was more funny than heartbreaking because he acted like a moron. And they live 9 blocks away from each other! Don't tell me they just break everything off!

I guess I just don't think the ending makes sense. Or maybe I just dont want to.

It's not cruel, it's realistic.

I used to be good friends with a set of brothers when I was younger. Then my parents and I moved, only ten minutes away, but we never saw each other again. It happens. People drift apart, no matter how close they may live.

[censored] *beep* this realism. There are too many sad endings in real life, at least this movie would have deserved a happy one.

In yee old days people wrote back and forth from camp. These days they have cell phones and email. She wasn't going to the far side of the moon.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
