I don't care how far he's come or how much he has suffered in his life, his anger nearly blinded DeLuca. Having Alex go into this rage proves that he hasn't come far enough. Regardless how bad he feels, he will do this again if he gets away with this.

She was laughing when he walked in. She only started sobbing when Alex started beating DeLucca to a bloody pulp he wouldn't stop despite her pleas.
He was in a blinde rage. He needs jail time.
He does need to pay for this, but I don't think paying in jail time is the answer as it would destroy his career and he has done a lot of good with his career, he only messed up recently because the case is messing with his ability to concentrate. Being sent to the clinic for at least a year is what he needs.
