Winstead's over acting totally dragged this movie down

She's obviously not a bad actor but her constant over-emoting and theatrics just drive me nuts. I just couldn't believe her character was real since most of her scenes she acts over the top. I love the cheesiness of this film and most of the characters were ok but Winstead was very poorly directed, should have been less emotional and more attenuated.

Yes, her acting annoyed me so much

I don't know. For the most, I liked her in this. Second best lead of the series after Alex from the original.

Emma Bell from 5 barely had any emotions at all..

I do really like her scream when she is about to get hit by the subway. It was bloodcurdling..

Really? I thought she was fantastic. As another poster have said, she's my 2nd favorite lead, right next from Alex. I found her reactions to be totally believable and realistic. She just lost her boyfriend and her best friend, of course she's gonna freak out all the time, especially with all of these death stuff chasing her. She's also quite smart (though she causes some of the death) and just all around cool. Great heroine for me.

Her butt looked delicious in the movie

It's called method acting

I think she did a very good acting job which was more than the role required, so it might come off as over-acting.

Meanwhile everyone else did minimal acting which is more appropriate for these films (who watches them for the acting or dialog?. Relatively speaking, it made Winstead look like she was trying too hard, but she was just being a pro.

Absolutely, flux1968.
