Did anyone else love May Boatwright?

I wish that i could meet someone like her in real life, because she was so nice, even though she was really sensitive and emotional. Sophie Okonado brought the character to life in this movie. When she died, i was sad that she did that, and i wished that she couldve changed he mimd. I think that her sisters shouldve put her on some medication, so that she could help keep her mind regulated and at peace. I wonder if they even had medication for the mind ready for the public in 1964. That stuff back then may have even caused her to get worse or have some adverse side effects.

I don't think we are taking serious in the US the issue of mental health in 2019, and it was probably not addressed at all back in the 60's. I always think of One Flew Over the Cuckcoo's nest with shock treatment and lobotomy, etc. I think anti depressants just started coming out in the 60's. I am not sure what options they really had at that time.

And yes I agree, she was so genuinely sweet how could you not love her.
