Anyone ever play against them in real life?
Just curious? What's it like, the atmosphere and stuff? Are they as good as the movie makes them out to be?

Yes. Willie Weathers, whose cousin Roger is killed early in the film, is in fact based on a real person. However, the real individual's name is Michael Black, not Willie Weathers. After leaving Camp Kilpatrick, Michael Black went on to play for Washington State, and then to the NFL where he played for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks.
