i kept being brought to mind of Days Of Heaven, especially the texture and realism as well as the eye for detail, the space in the editing and the soundtrack, like Malick music that does not rely on manipulation of your feelings

Yeah, me too, in some shots looked like DOH (similar framings and color palette/photography), but Almendros work on that one was way stylish, sometimes a little abusive..

haven't thought about it till you mentioned it, but maybe a little. then again, maybe not. i think malick is more 'something' than the photography in this film. yeah it had beautiful shots, but malick like? not so sure
