What does title 'Samurai Champloo' mean ?
does it have any significance ?
shareI think the original word was Champuru that was romanized to Champloo.
“Champuru” is an Okinawan stir fry dish, literally meaning a “mixture.” In a figurative sense, it’s similar to what locals would call “chop suey.” A whole bunch of stuff, tossed in, mixed up to create a unique flavor.
That pretty much describes Samurai Champuru (Champloo), it's a mixture of genres - 18th century samurai with modern day elements in the stories, not to mention the hip hop
I too am childish and hate to lose.

Thanks for that explanation, I was wondering about it too. Also in addition to what you said about a mixture of genres and eras, it's also a mix of characters with completely different personalities thrown together. When you think about it, Fuu, Mugen and Jin are quite an unlikely group of comrades/friends, yet they make it work.
The people, and the people alone, are the motive force in the making of history.
