Jet-setting ghosts cross oceans!

1. Ghosts seem to have taken on a new dimension. Folklore has it that they cannot cross the seas and oceans. Here it seemed that we have jet-setting ghosts. Toshio and later Kayako, was all over the place, from Tokyo to Chicago and back.

2. Folklore also has it that ghosts do not appear on films, camera or reflect on mirrors.

3. Kayako's mother, living deep in the countryside, speak fluent English and converse effortlessly with Aubrey! For someone who takes evil spirits form people she simply died on seeing her daughter's ghost. Aubrey was conveniently left to fight another day.

4. Like Grudge 1, the ending was bad, spoiled everything. Could have done better to set the scene for the next sequel.

Actually, the ghosts don't travel back and forth between Tokyo and Chicago. The Chicago events take place after the rest of the events in the film. Since Allison had entered the house, the ghosts were forever connected to here, like a disease. So, she unknowingly brought them back to Chicago with her.

^^^So by this logic, shouldn't half of Japan be infected by the slithering, gargling woman and her meowing son? Considering most of the victims frequented schools, office buildings, stores, etc,etc

Okay I get the Fassbender and Hardy hype!

The way I took it was, that by leaving Japan the curse was changed from the House and into the apartments in Chicago. They couldn't just let Allison get away, and went to Chicago with her, but possibly couldn't return to Japan, so they made the apartment their new dwelling place.

My impression was that the ghosts "attached" themselves to the individuals they encountered. Which is a pretty terrifying idea.

You're a moron. These aren't ghosts as Westerners understand them. They are elements of the curse. And the curse follows those who went into the house. If they go overseas, so does the curse.
