Questions and spoilers!

Okay, I got the timeline part by the end of the movie. But what happened to Allison’s parents? They were never mentioned or shown again, was she alone in the house in Chicago?

Bigger question: if Takeo was a ghost, which he apparently was, how did he kill Aubrey? How did he become physical? Karen went through the house in 1, following the professor, and saw everything, but it didn’t happen to her.

Was there something psychically special about Aubrey, in the way that she kept feeling her arm where she had been grabbed and transported into the house? She did that repeatedly through the movie.

After Aubrey was killed in the same way as the wife, why or how did the wife appear looking normal and well-dressed?

If someone else sets the house on fire (again) will Aubrey be freed like the wife was after Karen set fire to it?

Thanks!!

We're never shown what happens to Allison's parents. It's left for us speculate. All we know is where Allison ends up.

How does Takeo kill Aubrey if he's a ghost? Well, it's not really Takeo, is it? We've seen the ghosts kill people over and over throughout both movies. All three ghosts are just expressions of the grudge, the unquenchable hatred that was left behind after that shocking and brutal event. How does the ghost kill Aubrey? Heck, why not ask why they don't kill Aubrey sooner?

I don't think being continually irritated by the spot where the ghosts touched her is so surprising.

No human being was ever set free in this movie. The grudge which the human victims left behind was set free. The human beings involved are dead. All that is left is the grudge. Burning the house set the grudge free, but the grudge frees no one.

How is it not Takeo? He had to take corporeal form to kill Aubrey, or she had become incorporeal, which was it? It didn’t happen to Karen and she saw much more in the house than her sister. And I didn’t mean the human being was set free, I meant the haunting spirit. If the wife was released to haunt and kill in America, would the same thing happen to Aubrey?

Takeo didn't kill Aubrey. Kayako did.

The ghosts experience some intermittent tangibility.

The house doesn't matter anymore. The curse has transferred to Chicago.

So Kayako did in the form of Takeo? Because you can see it is "him".

Well, Kayako and Toshio are ghosts and yet, they are able to harm or attack victims physically. Takeo is also a ghost, but is always weird why he's never show as a white ghost, instead he looks normal.

The fate of Allison's parents isn't show in the film, but in an Alternate Ending , they were killed by the ghosts, that's why Allison runs out to the hall screaming, then Jake enters his house and sees their corpses.
