A couple of questions...

I have a couple of questions
* what exactly is going on with Karen & Aubrey's mother during this film- it seems like she's sick with some sort of terminal illness but what?
* what's going on with Trish and Bill in the Chicago Apt. Complex- are they possessed by Kayako and her husband or what?
* why did Allison board her windows like that with newspaper and cut her hair off? was she just completly nuts by that time or what?
* I get why Aubrey would've become a grudge (she held a grudge against her mother for favoring her sister) but what I don't get is why Miyuki and Vanessa would've turned into grudges as well
* and what did Kayako's mom mean by "I did not make her this way"- does that mean that Kayako was messed up the whole time even before her husband killed her?

sorry for all the questions, I just don't totally get all of this...

I think Aubrey's mother had emphyzema (sp?). This is a huge stereotype, but she struck me as the type who smoked, though I don't remember there being any evidence of that.

*It seemed to me like the mom had some sort of lung disease [maybe cancer or emphysema]
*When Allison comes back from Japan, she brings the Ju On with her. It seems like the curse manifested in that particular family for some reason and it like started over. So yeah, I guess they were consumed by the curse.
*I'm guessing Allison covered her windows with newspaper so she couldn't see the reflections of Kayako, Miyuki, Vanessa, etc. in the glass. I'm not sure if this was in the remake, but in the original Ju On movies the newspaper comes down in places and you see the reflections of the ghosts and it scares the crap out of the girl. My guess would be that she cut her long black hair because she kept seeing it and it reminded her of Kayako, so she just got rid of it.
*In my opinion, the people that Kayako kill don't become Grudges themselves. They just have the curse on them because they were consumed by its rage. I never would have thought about the whole Aubrey/Mother grudge thing though. Good point.
*Kayako's mother said that because Aubrey basically came into her home and accused her of starting everything. She said that Kayako was basically cursed like this because of what her husband did, and not for her past experiences with the demons in her mother's line of work.
