I was amazed at the elegance when Marvel first did it in Spiderman - No way home (where they brought the old spidermans and old actors and old adversaries back, explaining it with the multiverses)

Yep basically and not done well at all. In a "No Way Home" style Flash movie there should have been old actors who had played the Flash before not a bunch of old Batman and Superman actors. I guess the producers were not confident that the Flash could sell his own movie so that's why all the Batman and Superman actors.
shareTbh they needed to go more 'NWH' in The Flash, e.g. Cage Superman interacting with The Flash & Batman, Cavill as Superman (appearing properly), some Burton Bat villains like Riddler, Two Face (if he'd done Forever, B&R), Lynda Carter as WW, etc
