I'm sure this must have been brought up before, but I just watched this movie for the first time tonight and caught the pray mantis metaphor and thought it was such a brilliant motif! Absolutely loved it. If you didn't catch it...re-watch the movie and playback the scene where Tun is watching the documentary about pray mantis' and it will all make sense.

yes! that was brilliant. also the shot of them driving at about 58 minutes where a praying mantis in a bush moves it's head to watch the car go by blew my mind. how many times did it take to get that shot right? seems like it would be so hard to set up and pull it off that well. *spoilers* and it really works because natre is around tun's neck, reminiscent of how the female praying mantis eats away at the males head after mating, it all works together so nicely in regards to the plot.
