Why don't they go to the body after running her over

Okay so you "plough" into someone with your car at a high speed. Then why the *beep* would you just drive away - wouldn't you go and see the body atleast to see if shes dead or alive. I know they might not have wanted to get in trouble with the Police, but the very least you can do is go out and see if she's dead or alive.

Number of reasons. One might argue that they are scared of the consequences, be it jail or anything. But you could also see that it was really late and on a deserted road. What is the chance of hitting someone in school uniform there? They might have had some kind of bad feeling about it. Last but not least, it's not as uncommon as you think that people drive away after accidents. Not many people are eager to get out and know for sure that you killed someone.

However, their actions after the accident are odd. Like, why didn't they fix up the car? Especially before asking that road worker what had happened. I mean it's like so obvious that they were the ones who hit that pole. Damaged car, unnatural interest in what happened. Even asking if there were injuries and being all surprised when they hear noone was injured.

Spoiler space

The twist is not that the just ran over some random person but that it was his dead ex-girlfriend. It's not really clear if he knew she was dead at the time but this may not have been his first run in with her. As for his girlfriend (the living one), she wanted to look but was pressured to drive off by him.

yeah his girlfriend was such a pushover! she should have climbed out of that car and ignored Tun (I'm not saying it would have been a good idea, Natre could have killed her then and there). But she was the one who was driving, so if they could have gotten caught, she'd be in a lot more trouble.

(Spoiler) When it happens, we think the couple are cowardly and immoral for failing to see if they could help the victim--especially Tun, who pressures Jane hard to leave the scene. On reflection, though, Tun was probably fully aware that it was a manifestation of his haunting, and no accident.

they were drinking alcohol and driving.
