Really like the sound of this, but I've read there is a rape scene in it which I'm really not keen to see. How brutal is it?

dont worry the rape seen is not even a minute long, and nothing is shown at all, just her facial expression if that.

It is not pleasant, but it's not bad enough to ruin the movie for you.

Ironically, the American remake shows even less but is somehow more effective - one of the few improvements, actually.

i thought the movie was almost exactly like the ring, the grudge, the eye, etc...and i actually turned it off right after the rape scene because it DID ruin the movie for me. the truly scary parts are few and far between, so i would just skip it entirely if i were you

Too bad then. The really good part is the ending. Real creepy. This is one of the better scary movies out there.

Yeah i saw no comparison in the other asian movies you mentioned...not you reiyi but the man above you or woman...anywho...i liked this movie when....
