Just saw the 1939 film with Henry Fonda, Young Mr. Lincoln. I think Daniel Day Lewis must have watched this several times because it would be hard to see any difference in how these actors portrayed Lincoln. Both were excellent. Young Mr. Lincoln was released by Criterion several years ago. A real treasure.

Isn't "Young Mr. Lincoln" a wonderful film. It's in my top 10 all time, the humor is unexpected and refreshing.

It's a shame this 2012 film about Lincoln wasn't nearly as good, I think the cast was wonderful, it required a better director.
