Movie of Montages
I saw this last night for the first time. Once I caught on that most of the movie was going to be told in montage, I got bored and dropped it. It's fine to use montage once, maybe twice, in a movie, but this one was using it constantly. Very flimsy storytelling. It's no substitute for narrative structure.
Also, the songs were fairly unmemorable, but that's another thread. It could have been a good movie despite that.
