above average road trip comedy

That's how I see this movie. It wasn't trashy or vulgar like some other road trip comedies, as it had its "thought-provoking" moments. There were still plenty of memorable gags (I thought the corpse transportation was outrageous) and the child beauty pageant background is unique.

It reminds me a lot of "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert."

Agree 100%. That's why it's one of the *very* few movies I can watch over and over and still appreciate it!

I'd say this is way above average, almost in the same league as "Flirting With Disaster." It goes in so many unpredictable directions, and even though much of the plot is bizarre, the characters maintain their humanity. 9/10 stars from me.
