The night at the orphanage?

When Danny and Maddy were sitting outside talking...did anything more intimate happen that night? sorry if i'm being completely dumb and thats what the movie was trying to suggest but this is about my fourth viewing and i've only just realised that after that talk it could have led onto something more than just friends.
If anyone can give me their opinion or confirm my wonderings it would be much appreciated

It's subtle, but it does seem to be implied that they slept together that night, yes. IMO, the glance he gives her in the rear view mirror in the very next scene is the giveaway.

There was someone who posted the same question on this board a while back and surprisingly there was somebody who responded to the question by claiming that they worked as one of the crew member's on the set. That person said that the scene was extended to where Danny and Maddie started to lean in and kiss but the orphan's came rushing out of the school yelling "MR. ARCHER! MR.ARCHER!" and while Archer was dealing with them, Maddie got up and left to go to bed. So if you look at the point of view with what the crew member said, I would have to go with nothing happened. Maddie and Danny were about to kiss but the kids interrupted so hand-holding was about as far as it went.
