Does anyone get the feeling that the hit might have been staged? I'm rewatching this now and boy, Idi REALLY wanted Nicholas to drive that car. I mean, right now. Could he have been clever enough to set the whole thing up for political purposes? Or am I just reading too much into it? I haven't read the book so I remain ignorant of any subtext.
