Randy is my favorite character ever on tv. Ethan did an amazing job in that role

I want to like Randy, but I don't find him funny at all. Stupid just isn't funny to me.

Randy is dangerously stupid and with outright psychopathic personality traits too. I always assumed the Randy portrayal was loosely inspired by Lennie from Of Mice And Men with Earl being a comical version of George.

I feel the same way. I want to like him, but his stupidity annoys me way too much.

I was rewatching the series and I disagree because much of the humor surrounding Randy is more or less along the lines of "look how dumb he is" and it makes for very simple laughs. It's almost insulting to people who are slow or suffer from some developmental disability (which it seems very clear that Randy does). However, the friendship between the two is very touching.
