The rules are simple:

2. Absolutely no character/actor/actor's significant others bashing is allowed.
3. There is a place for J2 and Wincest, but this is not it. We don't judge, but if we choose to indulge, we do so elsewhere.

Re the fanforum site: it's not all that easy to set up an account. I signed up and they sent me an "activate your account" email. When I clicked on the link, it said it (or I) was invalid. The email offered a second link that would require me to put in an activation code provided in the email. I copied and pasted that onto the page to which the link took me (and entered my username). Again, it was invalid. I sent an email to the "webmaster". So far, no response. When I tried to reach the "administrator" via the link provided, it brought up a page with lots of different email systems and required me to pick my provider and basically set up an account; with some of them, having to provide my password. Really? All I wanted was the administrator's contact info

I ended up deleting the site.

better for you, cause took a look on it & it's full of j1stans posing as bibros, as usual. found another new site imdb like & made a thread there abt jensen/dean & his fans https://www.themoviedb.org/person/49624-jensen-ackles/discuss/589906ac9251416467000d6f . if you want come in, although they want registration there too & they'll send you a verification mail to register. if link to verify mail is not clickable, like it happened in my email, copypaste link & move it to a document. when transfered there was clickable & registered, cause could not contact them either when run in to the problem

I can't watch it 'til tomorrow unfortunately. But I'm curious, was it more of a comedic episode or did it have dramatic stuff too? Cuz if we get the best of both worlds from Jensen's performance, I'll be even more excited.

It was mixed. There's a lot of goofy Dean (and some quite-sweet bonding between him and Rowena when he's in very deep), but there's also a scene where he's in the bathroom, breaking down over not being able to remember his own name, that is deeply tragic. If there were any justice, that scene alone would be Emmy bait.

I thought the mix was done really well. And, yeah, that bathroom scene where he was forgetting himself made my heart break for him.

Certainly for one of the very last episodes we'll ever talk about here - is there one next week? - it was wonderful that it was a very rare (like a unicorn) Dean-focused episode. Jensen got to run the gamut of emotions, which I think is exactly what he wanted out of this script, and what he loves to do and gets to do almost never anymore these days.

I actually want to rewatch the episode - I never want to rewatch the episodes anymore. I may even keep this one on the dvr for a while, because I suspect it will be possibly the last time this year that we have anything meaty for Dean.

So, bravo Jensen!

Did anyone else feel like that Dean music montage at the end came off like a goodbye to the character? Weird - I mean, I liked it, but it was a strange choice.

Are any other Dean fans going to Previously TV? The site is okay, but it definitely feels like it's lacking Dean fans.

I didn't like the eerie montage at all. I wish it had been just the bullriding clip.

Don't judge Previously by the Dean thread. Read the conversations on the other threads. Plenty of Dean love there. Whats nice is that even though theres lots of Dean love, theres no bashing of Sam. I also love the unpopular opinion thread. A safe place to go to say something you are afraid to say in the regular threads.

I have scrolled through the other threads, and posted too; and ... well, let's just say I hope to see more Dean fans showing up.

I've no interest in bashing other characters in general. Even though Sam is not a fav of mine, I've never participated in any of the Sam-bashy threads that have popped up here. I just choose not to talk about that much and like to focus on my favorite character whenever there's something to talk about, which isn't all that often these days.

The Dean thread there does kinda suck.

Indeed.    

Funny, adorkable, badass, and heart-wrenching. He is all these things and more Our Dean. And I love it when a writer allows us an entire episode to see all of this about him and when especially the heartbreak pertains to Dean and is about/over Dean, himself, and not over some other character/situation. It's seriously been too long and they have been too few and far between. My only fear is the same as PA Forrest's that this will be the last one for another 3-4 seasons.

But, yes, I fully expect this episode to be an anomaly, so I'll watch it a couple more times and enjoy it while I can and for what it is.

And even though the focus was supposedly on Dean, the writer certainly did a good job of giving Sam a lot to do too, as well as Rowena.

Unfortunately whenever there's a Samcentric episode, the bad showrunnerly habit is to all but eliminate Dean and Jensen from the episode, and that's absolutely no way to get me to care or even watch a Samcentric episode - or an episode about anyone else in general. I only cared a little about last week's episode because there was some focus on the relationship between Dean and Castiel, and at least Dean was somewhat involved.

Well, I'd say this is a good way to finish out our time here on imdb. Jensen finally gets a decent script, nails it, is applauded for it, and rocks the house down in Vegas! Woot!

Yeah, it's probably nothing but a dearth of Jensen/Dean on the show from here on out, at least once, twice, thrice I'm sure I won't even have to set up the dvr. But we can look back on this one week as a definitive win.

It definitely looks that way. And Jensen knocks it out of the park. His energy was over the top. Screams galore. I often wonder what other non-Supernatural guests at the hotel must think with all the cosplay and screams.

The panel was fun, but way too short. At least one question/comment about Regarding Dean, which was nice. Like the question/comment about the twins names though, Jared did 95% of the answering. Jensen is a very patient friend.

I think this every time I watch a panel video. If Jared is telling a story Jensen is quiet, sometimes he makes funny faces or whatever, but for the most part he's quiet. Jared interrupts all the time.

Can I also say that I'm extraordinarily annoyed by the fact that Sam got to kill the Hellhound. If Perez only invented the Princes of Hell, so Sam could kill a YED, then surely Dean was up for killing a hellhound, since you know . . . he was kind of ripped apart by hellhounds and missed out the last time.

I think going with this thread works fine for now, especially if this group is trying to attract the old imdb'ers. I guess the only question is how many posts does it take on this board to close out a thread - or if that even happens? Does anyone know?

But, yes, I was very annoyed to see Sam get yet another big kill while Dean, AGAIN, was literally sent off into the woods and away from the action.

Perez is even the one who admitted to tit-for-tat writing a few weeks ago - i.e., the reason they're supposedly manufacturing all these big kills for Sam, 'cuz doncha know Dean killed these characters once more than a decade ago. But if that was true, then it was even more reason for Dean to kill the hellhound since Sam already killed one in the lame trials aspect of season 8. Tit-for-tat is supposed to work both ways. And, of course, don't you think Dean deserves some payback for being ripped to shreds by hellhounds - not that the showrunners want us to remember any of that.

So it's incredibly annoying and frustrating to suspect and then get confirmation that Dean will be sent away from the action every single week so Sam can get the kill. It's so obvious that the whole thing is nothing more than a bad drinking game/meme. Worse, it looks like somebody's agent is calling the storyline shots.

With this show I wouldn't doubt anything BTS anymore. I'd hope not, but what I really mean to say is that the very uneven one-sided writing makes it look like someone is calling the shots for one actor, which shouldn't be what they want viewers to suspect. So if they don't want viewers to wonder if there are problems BTS, then how about not making it so freaking obvious that they are blatantly sidelining one of the leads. And they can't use the "paternity leave" excuse forever, foremost because this has been happening since the beginning of the year well before the twins were born, and secondly because the last 2-3 episodes were shot in January, after Jensen's leave was up.

Of course, this has been an ongoing problem for years, maybe even since the beginning of the series at times. But the difference is that the writing and showrunning was much stronger then. Strong writers who aren't trying to make it look like there is bias for or against an actor can structure a script so it doesn't look like one actor isn't working as much that week, or isn't the focal point for the writer.

Dean was never the focal point until season four, but Jensen was such a strong actor and the writing was such that you never felt like he wasn't one of the leads or wasn't actively involved in the storyline. You can't say that now. A lot of viewers are saying that Dean literally could be eliminated from the entire season and nothing would change, and the sad fact is that it's true. The same was true last season, for the most part.

Bottom line, it shouldn't be so hard to write fairly and evenly for two leads, because at the end of the day, there are still only two actors/characters who are the leads.

I see what you're saying. The illusion of impropriety is what they should be concerned about. I hadn't thought of it in the way you suggested, but I guess I too have wondered if there is something going on behind the scenes at times and especially lately.

Conspiracy theories aside, I generally tend to think the writers are threatened by Dean. It seems like they want to punish him and make him non-existent in the storyline because of their own perceived status in society. They don't watch the previous seasons, so they come in with this idea that Dean is a stereotype they've grown up hating when in fact he's very layered and an overall fantastic character, something they would know if they took the time to get to know him, but they don't, which is a shame, because Jensen can create gold out of very little, so it seems like they've decided to take it a step further and give him nothing . . . that's when they aren't writing Dean as OOC. Like Dean would drive around for days in blood and guts, or throw said blood and guts on the floor of his house. He doesn't like gross things, and if a gum wrapper on the floor annoys him, I'm sure monster tissue being on the floor would annoy him more. He certainly wouldn't be the one to put it there.

It is really really cute, I think we all know that Jensen is a very loving dad. Although I do find it a little strange for him to post this only because he is also quite a private person. He gives his fans little snippets i.e. photos of his new twins but in general I think he tries to keep as much private as possible. Maybe I am overthinking as he does seem to post more now eg his new brewing business.

He has said in conventions that he feels more comfortable sharing and that 1) receiving the love from fans 2) having a daughter made him more willing to be open about his life. I think Jensen and Danneel are still very careful about what they choose to share where their children are concerned, and I think that's a very good thing. So it makes everything we do get to see that much more special.

I've just seen that picture, it's adorable. How Zep is holding out his arm and they are both smiling at one another. Zep really does look like Jensen! I bet he's a proud daddy....

He seems happy in every pic you guys share. I bet he puts a little of that in the character of Dean. Dean is very family oriented and it seems too be rubbing off from his real life counterpart. I hope Henson and Jared keep sharing these tweets. It helps me enjoy the show and clues me in a little bit behind the scenes

Hm, don't know that he looks tired as much as introspective - or just concentrating really hard on making sure the twins aren't having any problems with those bottles. LOL! But, sure, I assume he's very tired too - babies are a lot of work.
