Mostly spot on.

That pretty much summed it all up. I hope this means the dam is starting to break and there will be enough of these stories to get the higher ups attention.

Supernatural was very lucky to land Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki because they are both very talented actors. They have, on many occasions, taken material that is pretty mediocre and turned it into good television.
I agree and as I always say, they're the reason I started watching this show, and they're the reason I'm holding on to it.
they turned Mary into a lying, deceptive, manipulative jerk who seems to care more about herself than Sam and Dean. (...) I think I’m supposed to care about Mary, but after the way the show has butchered that character, I honestly just want her gone.
Amen, she's speaking my language. Let's drop Mary into The Empty and move on.
I think I’m supposed to care that the Brits are planning to come over and wipe out all the American hunters, but since I haven’t spent any time this season getting to know any of them besides Mick and Ketch, it’s really difficult for me to care about that brewing conflict. (...) I think I’m supposed to care about Lucifer’s child possibly setting off another apocalypse, but right now, meh.
Yep.
The powers that be have struggled since the end of season five to figure out what to do with Castiel.
I agree and I have an unpopular opinion as to why.
the mistakes that are being made this season are rookie mistakes which could be solved by going back and refreshing your memory on past season canon.
Agree.
I’m hoping Dabb and Co. can pull things together better going forward, but if they don’t stop and look at the mess they’ve made thus far, I’m not holding my breath for much improvement.

That's why I've become obsessed with the show's ratings. They're my only hope someone will tap Dabb on the shoulder and tell him, do you see all the water inside this boat? We're going under, man!

Spot on, indeed. I've tweeted the link to Andrew. Hope he reads. Two many plots going nowhere and S&D watching from the sidelines... that's season 12.

And, as usual, the comments section is quickly waylaid by rampaging Destiel fans. The author makes really good points about Cas' journey since he joined TFW but they just don't listen.
