Favorite Kind of Horror

What's your favorite kind of horror? Some people may not even like it, but if you had choose, what kind would it be?

For me: Slasher Flicks followed by well done, well thought out zombie movies (WWZ need not apply).

Slashers are probably my favorite, like Scream is one of my all time favorites. I used to like the psychological horrors, but hollywood has been milking those to where they are slim pickens, like "supernatural/paranormal" horror.

Old school slashers all the way. Jason, Freddy, Pinhead, Ash. My dream is that Sam and Dean are included in the Mortal Kombat style Horror fighter that Ed Boon has been thinking about. That or a re-purposed Freddy vs Jason vs Sam and Dean (still hold a grudge on the Freddy/Jason/Ash movie that Raimi squashed).

I enjoy psychological horror the most. Slasher and jump scare type movies are usually pretty bad.

I really liked The Babadook. I'd consider that a psychological horror, which makes it much more scary in my opinion than if it'd been a straight up monster movie.

I like all types. I finally watched both The Conjuring movies and really thought they were well done.

I agree with this list from imdb. Pretty much sums up the type of movies I enjoy most.

Not a bad list. Going by my ratings, I think I've only seen 17/23. My ratings of the ones I've seen are kind of all over the place and go all the way from 10 down to 3.

Session 9 is so overlooked. It's nice it was on the list.

I LOVED Session 9 and Frailty for obvious reasons (parallel thinking or idea theft...you decide).

Serial killers who are crazy and can function in real life. Zombies like Pet Semetary. Another are vengeful ghosts like surprise party from Tales from the crypt.
