Ask Ausiello Spoilers

There isn't a whole lot, but there's this:

Question: I’m fully aware it’s only June, but that’s not going to stop me from asking for a little fall preview on Supernatural. —Sam

Ausiello: Last month’s Supernatural finale definitely set the stage for an explosive Season 13, but you might want to rewatch an earlier episode for some clues about what’s in store for the Winchesters & Co. As you may recall, in the producers’ preview for Season 12’s “Ladies Drink Free,” executive producer Robert Singer revealed that the installment “very subtly tees up something that we’re going to revisit next [season].” So of course, we asked EP Andrew Dabb to elaborate. “That’s something we’re probably more comfortable talking about around Comic-Con,” he responded. “We have some really interesting things in the works.”

So . . . are the Wayward Daughters going to be taking up more time next season? Or is it something else? Is it curing monsters? Maybe the monsters are replenishing their numbers, the way the werewolf in LDF tried to do because of what the BMoL did, and there will be a war?

What do you think it might be? What do you not want it to be? What wouldn't you mind?

reply

I'm not sure what to expect, but I would be ok with a massive monster uprising after what the BMoL put them threw. I'm sure more known characters will be killed off(probably off screen) and we will see more development of the Wayward Daughters becoming a better unit and force they have chosen to become. I would like to see Max and Alicia again, with Max telling S+D what he's done . And the return of Rowena...

reply

I desperately want to see Rowena come back. Chard body or not. She could still come back. I can see them expanding on the monster side of the story telling which sometimes does grip me if it's done well. Unlike AD's attempt at Bloodlines which was totally crap! Not so over keen on MORE Wayward Daughters, but IF we have to go there I wish they'd ditch Claire, she does annoy me now. I love Jody and Alex as a combination though. Jody is a brilliant mix with the boys and gets them and what they do.

reply

I'd go with monster uprising or at least us getting to see some of survivors of the BMoL methods. And to be honest they may not be as agreeable as the lonely rapey werewolf. As to be honest how would you take surviving your family and friends being killed for jut being rather than knowing that they had done something to cause their own deaths.

reply

Well SDCC is in a few weeks so I guess we will find out then. But I would have to assume it is going to be "fan favorite" Claire forced on us...uh I mean focused. But I think Superwarts might have been a hint too. You know children murdering children...because everyone loves child abuse.
The J's seem a little disheartened (or maybe baby fatigued) right now. I think they just want it to be over. I think they were really counting on shortened seasons going forward. That didn't seem to happen. So Dabb is moving on from the Winchesters.

I agree, I think they're just going through the motions now.

I had to ask around to even recall what that stupid episode was about, since the entire season is a nauseating blur in my mind. So my guess is that they're going to announce a Claire-based spinoff/Wayward daughters/Hogwarts ripoff. If not that, then just more Claire in season 13. Whatever it is won't have anything to do with the Winchesters, unless it's Mary.

I think any attempt at a spinoff will tank, but I sure would love it if/when they announce a spinoff they also announce that Dabb and Singer are going to work on that full time, and someone else - anyone else (Carver, whoever) - is going to showrun the mothership through to the end.

Yes, Carver looks golden compared to the Dabb/Singer crapshow.

"Yes, Carver looks golden compared to the Dabb/Singer crapshow."

Yeah no kidding!
