The obvious Wayward Son--I always associated this song with Dean in the beginning. He was so desperate to have his dad and his brother altogether hunting as a family again...that just seemed to be his peace.

Simple Man--I always associated with Sam. He was also so desperate to live a simple life, somehow reconnect with the person he thought he was going to be. Both songs make me cry whenever I hear them played.

I miss the rock songs on the show.

I'm with Wayward son, also. Love a lot of other songs, but I can't think of any song that fit a TV show more perfectly. Especially during the "The road so far..." segments.

It's a very manly song, perfectly describing the way us, men, generally deal with tough times and emotions, all the while - TOTALLY ROCKIN'!

Three come to mind...

(Don't Fear) The Reaper. Absolutely LOVE this song and Blue Oyster Cult. The fact that they incorporated it into such an amazing and emotionally charged episode (Faith)... Wow. More Cowbell!

Oh Death. The introduction of Death was both powerful and awful. Mesmerizing and entertaining character. RIP?!?

Goodbye Stranger. Love Supertramp. (This may have been influenced by my being high as a fucking kite while at a planetarium laser show. Good times.) But as I was singing along during the episode, it was all about Castiel being free.

I love all those choices.
